Pulling away from the technicalities and formalities of art evaluation you usually read in art publications and websites, we go easy on the highfaluting terms and give you a different vantage point on our featured artworks.
For starters, our team decided on this photograph of a Giant Panda from “Looking Beyond,” a photo exhibit by Kuya Daniel S. Razon, host of UNTV’s morning public service program, “Good Morning Kuya.” “Looking Beyond” exhibit was also the launch site of “Isang Araw Lang” (Just One Day), his campaign to do good to other people even just for a day. Several prints of this thought-provoking big bear as well as the other works from the exhibit had found its way in the houses of their owners. In turn, this artwork had helped provide shelter to homeless people in Kamanggagawa Foundation’s Free Transient Home where these people can get a night’s rest in cozy beds; have their fill on hearty meals; receive health check-ups and medicines; and get a Bible for keeps.
Kuya Daniel’s artworks had always illustrated the ideal use of God-given talents to lend a hand to people, an essential element of art that is rarely mentioned in the analysis of art.
